Support The Magnolia Theater

The Magnolia theatre is happy to announce the start of its 7th Season coming this fall.

The Magnolia Theater School of Drama was started with the aim of providing cultural enrichment to children and our community at large. Additionally, the theatre provides a unique opportunity for children to gain valuable experience in acting, singing, improvisation, dancing and public speaking.

To date, the theatre has been a self-sustaining nonprofit 501 (c) 3 operating without the support of fundraisers (to the exclusion of our first annual holiday scholarship fundraiser) or supporting arts grants. As with all schools, tuition alone does not cover the total costs associated with each production. There are many hidden costs including, but not limited to contracting artists, procuring royalties, licensing, scripts, music, as well as materials for sets, scenes, props and costumes for over 60 actors. Other costs include printer and box office operations, web design and church user fees, rental fees for sound and bleachers, programs and flyers.

Additionally, it has been the theatre’s great privilege to provide scholarships to needy students, in order to further the goal of cultural enrichment through the arts. This year we are proud to announce the Anna Vizzare Endowment Scholarship, which was created by many of The Music Man 1 graduates.

We all know these economic times have hit hard. The theatre too has had to cut costs, and incur increased production costs, yet tuition has remained the same.

We hope that with the advent of exploring new funding sources from arts and education grants and additional fundraising campaigns we will be able to continue to keep tuition costs steady and in the future provide scholarships for the students who need them.

As always, we thank you for your support and the great attention you give to your children’s education.
